I have recently read an interview with Dr. Michael Greger, the author of How Not to Die, who specializes in clinical nutrition. He said that trials have shown a few spoonfuls of ground linseed (flaxseed) a day can bring down blood pressure 2 to 3 times better than leading blood pressure medications.
The side effects include reducing the risk of breast and prostate cancer, controlling cholesterol, triglycerides and blood sugars, reducing inflammation and helping constipation.
It’s not that difficult to put a few spoonfuls into a smoothie, soup, salad or muffins and now that you know it comes with all these benefits, why not try. They taste pretty neutral, little nutty.
